This is a logo for a muay thai school and training camp locaded in Brasília, Brazil. Since this is a traditional school, I mixed very traditional elements of Thai folklore with a modern look.
The dragon like creature displayed in the logo is a Nāga. Nāga is a deity that takes the form of a very great snake and it is found in various religions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainismand Sikhism.
The legend of the Nāga is a strong and sacred belief held by Thai people living along the Mekong River. Many pay their respects to the river because they believe the Nāga still rule in it, and locals hold an annual sacrifice for the Nāga.
The owner and teacher at 01 Camp like it so much, he decide to ink it.
